Seekonk, Mass. (August 18, 2017): Can anyone dethrone Matt Hirschman in NorthEast Racecars Tri-Track Open Modified Series (TTOMS) action? That question will be answered on Wednesday night, August 23 at Star Speedway in Epping, NH. Hirschman, who has secured victories in the first two races of the Tri-Track Open Modified Series, has also been dominant at the Granite State oval.  There will be plenty of competition on hand on Wednesday night looking to end Hirschman’s streak.

The mid-week event is reminiscent of the former Yankee All-Star League. And, like those events, the TTOMS August Classic at Star will bring out some of the biggest names in modified racing.

With two recent victories in Modified Tour competition, the red-hot Ryan Preece may be considered the odds-on favorite. His strong performances in the Nationwide Series this season likely make him the sentimental favorite as well.

A couple of ‘local’ drivers will likely have a say in the outcome of the event. Jon McKennedy will look to return to his winning ways at Star in the Flamingo Motorsports 100 on Wednesday night. McKennedy, a multi-time Modified Series champion, cut his teeth at Star competing in Supermodifieds. Former Star Speedway weekly racing series champion Josh Cantara has had career-best performances in TTOMS competition at Star. He looks to notch his first-ever win in the Flamingo Motorsports August Classic.

The roster for the 100-lap, $6,000 to win Flamingo Motorsports sponsored event  is expected to include other heavy hitters like Rowan Pennink, Woody Pitkat, Anthony Nocella, Tommy Barrett, Chris Pasteryak, Richard Savary and more.  The event will pay $1,000 to take the green flag.

The racing card will also include Star Speedway’s Strictly Stocks, Roadrunners and Six-Shooters. Heat races get underway at 7pm. Learn more by visiting starspeedwaynh.com or by following the track on Facebook. Fin the Tri-Track Modified Series online at tritrackmods.com or on Facebook.
