Seekonk, Mass. (January 27, 2019): The Tri-Track Open Modified Series (TTOMS) recently announced the addition of longtime car owner Ed Bennett to the management team. With a solid foundation that includes founders Dick Williams and Jim Schaefer, Wayne Darling and a host of respected officials, Bennett adds another level of management to ensure that the Series remains strong in 2019 and beyond.

In his new role, Bennett will concentrate on the operational side of the series. He will take over the race day responsibilities previously handled by Darling, who seeks to lessen his daily role.

“I want everyone, whether it’s a promoter, owner, driver or fan, to experience a nice smooth show,” said Bennett. “The Series is perfectly capable of doing that. I’m just here to help make that happen for all six races this season.”

With its most robust schedule to date, the 2019 TTOMS series will feature six races. The season kicks-off with the second annual Claremont 100 at Claremont Speedway on May 25, followed by long-established events like Open Wheel Wednesday at Seekonk Speedway on June 26 and the SBM 125 at Star Speedway on July 27.  New to the schedule includes the Oxford 100 at Oxford Plains Speedway on August 24 as part of the prestigious Oxford 250 weekend plus a trip to the Wrenn Family’s Monadnock on September 14. The 2019 season will conclude with the Haunted Hundred at Seekonk on October 26.

Bennett, a second-generation car owner, owned Modifieds for many years. He followed in the footsteps of his father, who owned Midgets.

The addition of Bennett to the TTOMS family comes as Mark Pennink steps way. Pennink joined the Series as part of the new ownership group that included Darling.

“It truly has been a pleasure working with Wayne, Jim, Dick and everyone,” said Pennink.

As racing was always a family affair for Pennink, the recent retirement of his son Rowan undoubtedly lessened the appeal of all the traveling.

“The distance from Philadelphia makes attending the races a rather big chore,” said Pennink. “But I am happy to be continuing my support of the series; just now as a sponsor.”

Preregistration for the 2019 TTOMS season is available by visiting Checks made payable to Tri Track Enterprise LLC may also be mailed to Jim Schaefer, 545 Sweezy Ave., Riverhead, NY 11901.

“During the 2019 season all competitors will vie for over quarter of a million dollars in purse money,” added Bennett. “We are going to make sure that not only is competing in this series lucrative but also fun and fair.”
